Tasmania’s hospitality leaders – something exciting is happening, and we want you to be part of it.
Applications for the 2026-27 HOSPO Health Leaders Program are opening on Friday 1 May, and this year’s program is better than ever. If you’re a business owner, general manager or senior leader in Tasmania’s hospitality industry, here’s why this matters.
Our industry faces a hard reality: staff turnover is among the highest of any sector, 80% of workers say mental health is a challenge, and psychosocial injury claims are rising nationally. Awareness programs aren’t enough. We need a different approach.
Presented by Hospitality Tasmania, the HOSPO Health Leaders Program is a 12-month psychosocial safety and performance system, built on current evidence, delivered by researchers and practitioners who are among the best in Australia, and independently evaluated so we can prove what changes.
Over the next year, you will:
- Build a deep, practical understanding of psychosocial safety in a hospitality context, including your legal obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act and the 14 psychosocial hazards your business must manage
- Develop your own leadership wellbeing practice
- Be paired with a peer learning partner in another Tasmanian hospitality business for structured accountability conversations every two months
- Leave with measurable, signed commitments to specific changes in your workplace that are backed by real data
This isn’t a series of sessions. Every step builds on the last, starting with you as a leader and finishing with evidence of real change in your business. Most wellbeing programs stop at awareness. This one doesn’t.
Applications close 31 May. Follow the link to apply, we’d love to have you and your leadership team in the 2026-27 cohort.
